Miranda Lambert blasts rumors that she had surgery to lose weight

Country star Miranda Lambert told fans that she did not have surgery in order to lose weight. One-half of the most popular married couple in country music called the rumors “ridiculous.”

In a post on her website today, the “Mama’s Broken Heart” singer wrote that even though she rarely pays attention to the tabloids, she felt a need to “set the record straight” on these surgery rumors.

“I DID NOT have surgery to lose weight. That is ridiculous. I lost my weight the healthy and good old fashioned way. Watching what I eat and working out with my trainer Bill Crutchfield,” she wrote.

Lambert added that she’s not even certain herself how much weight she lost. “Like I have always said, it’s not about a scale, it’s about how you feel and how your jeans fit,” she wrote. “And on November 10th when I turned 30, my skinny jeans were finally baggy! Mission accomplished!”

She urged her fans to ignore “trash talk,” adding, “I am proud to be a normal size girl and I want to encourage everyone to be confident at any size. Thanks for the support yall!”

According to Us Weekly, Lambert showed off her slimmer body first at the BMI Country Awards in Nashville on Nov. 5. The next night, she wore a blue Roberto Cavalli gown with a plunging neckline, which prompted husband Blake Shelton to tell the world, “My wife is so hot it's ridiculous.”
