Prince Harry's trip to Antarctic delayed at least 24 hours

Poor weather conditions have delayed Prince Harry's 200-mile trek through Antarctica, causing him to spend at least one more day in Cape Town, South Africa.

According to Today News, the team's scheduled flight to Novo, Antarctica will be delayed at least 24 hours, allowing the team a little extra time in the 85-degree weather of South Africa before they battle ice, snow and sub-zero temperatures. The team was in Cape Town getting briefed on safety and logistical information for their trek before they begin acclimatizing to the Antarctic weather.

ABC News reports that Harry and his teammates, four injured British service men and women, spent 20 straight hours in September in a subzero chamber for training.

The 29-year-old prince will compete against True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard and The Wire star Dominic West in a race to the South Pole that will raise funds for Walking with the Wounded charity. The trip is projected to last 16 to 17 days, beginning on Nov. 30 and ending around Dec. 16.
