Comedy Central picks up Daniel Tosh’s ‘Tosh.0’ for three more seasons

Daniel Tosh will have to come up with plenty of more people and videos to make fun of. The comedian’s Comedy Central show Tosh.0 has just been renewed for three more seasons.

The network made the announcement today, since tonight is the premiere of the fifth season finale. Tosh.0’s sixth season will start on Feb. 18 at 10 p.m. the seventh and eighth seasons will premiere in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Hopefully, people are still making funny YouTube clips for Tosh’s material.

“We believe ‘Tosh.0’ has the potential to resonate with our audience, and we want to give it time to connect,” Kent Alterman, President, Content Development and Original Programming, said in a statement.

“I am extremely fortunate and very grateful that I can continue to work with such fun and talented people on a very supportive network,” Tosh added. “Sorry for the lack of snark – I will leave that open for the comments section.”

Tosh.0 first premiered in June 2009 and features Tosh making fun of celebrities’ online activity and giving viral video stars chances to redeem themselves from embarrassment. The show is the No. 1 Tuesday night entertainment show in the Men 18-49 demographic and its most recent season has averaged 3 million viewers. It averaged a 2.2 18-49 rating.
