'The Walking Dead' creator sues AMC

The creator of the Walking Dead,Frank Darabont, has filed a lawsuit against AMC networks.

Darabont is claiming he is owed tens of millions of dollars for the runaway hit TV show. AMC claims that the show is currently running a deficit, Variety added.

The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in New York. Darabont claims that AMC has been engaged in the practice of self-dealing which is improper and abusive, Deadline reported.

The suit further details that AMC produces the show for an artificially low fee to another AMC network that televises the show to the public. The suit also explains that Darabont, being the creator of The Walking Dead is entitled to profits from the show based on a formula in which he receives a portion of the modified adjusted gross receipts.

Darbont was dismissed from the show back in 2011.

AMC has not yet released a statement or comment regarding the lawsuit.

The Walking Dead has continued to be one of the highest rated shows on cable and for the AMC network.
