Top 10 'Supernatural' death scenes

Supernatural follows brothers Sam and Dean Winchester as they travel cross country fighting everything that goes bump in the night. The show’s plot changes every few seasons, always with a new big monster that the boys are trying to defeat. The boys have battled with the likes of demons, Lucifer, angels, werewolves, vampires (and we don’t mean the kind like Edward Cullen) and shape shifters.
Currently the show is in its ninth season and has seen a lot of death and we do mean A LOT. Not only have we seen the Winchesters kill monsters but we’ve also had to say goodbye to some beloved characters as well. It seems like every time the boys let someone into their life they end up losing them not soon after. While the show is on a midseason break let’s take a look back at the show’s characters who meant the most to us and their demises.

[new page=Balthazar]
10. Balthazar
Balthazar was helping the Winchesters stop Castiel from opening up Purgatory by telling them exactly where the ritual would be taking place. Unfortunately you can’t really keep a secret from an angel and in his thirst for power, Cas killed Balthazar over the betrayal.

[new page=Mary Winchester]
9. Mary Winchester
Mary Winchester was the mother to our heroes and her death marked the beginning of the show. Her death is really the only reason the Winchesters became hunters to begin with.

[new page=Meg]
8. Meg
Meg Masters is the demon who originally was out to get the boys but eventually came over to the good side. Because of her dedication to helping the boys find the angel tablet, fellow demon Crowley decided she had to go.

[new page=Dean Winchester]
7. Dean Winchester
Dean may be one of the main characters of the show but that didn’t stop producers from killing him quite a few times. One of the best death scenes for Dean has to be in the episode “Mystery Spot” where Dean died over and over and over again. His death occurred in a multiple different ways from slipping in the shower to being hit by a car.

[new page=Castiel]
6. Castiel
Angels are really hard to kill, but have one overcome with hundreds of Leviathan and is does a pretty good job. Cas’ body can’t hold all of those Leviathan and they cause Cas to explode, leaving behind nothing but his trench coat. Don’t worry though, he does come back.

[new page=Sam Winchester]
5. Sam Winchester
In the end of season 2 Sam has to fight for his life when Jake tried to kill him. Sam overcame Jake but spared his life. Jake wasn’t as kind though cause as soon as Sam’s back was turn he stabbed him. Watching Dean cry over his little brother was enough to make us all reach for the tissues.

[new page=Gabriel]
4. Gabriel
At first thought to be a trickster, Gabriel turned out to be a pretty powerful angel who seemed to flip flop on whose side he was on during the apocalypse. Eventually he did try to help the Winchester’s kill Lucifer but Satan got the better of him.

[new page=Kevin Tran]
3. Kevin Tran
I really was not expecting this during the midseason finale of Supernatural’s ninth season. Prophet of the lord, Kevin Tran was number 1 on Metatron’s hit list and Gadreel took him out while still possessing Sam’s body.

[new page= Ellen and Jo Harville]
2. Ellen and Jo Harville
The best mother/ daughter team of Supernatural. These two awesome chicks died while trying to help the boys defeat Lucifer. Jo was attacked by a Hellhound and close to death so Ellen stayed with her daughter and to kill the remaining hellhounds blew up the store while still inside it.

[new page=Bobby Singer]
1. Bobby Singer
Bobby was the closest thing to a father the boys had. Unfortunately, Bobby was shot in the head by none other than big bad leviathan Dick Roman. This caused Bobby to fall into a coma and he eventually passed away but not before giving the boys some important clues.
