TV Ratings: 'Modern Family wins, 'Sing-Off' drops, but still tops 'X Factor'

Wednesday night went to CBS with the credit going to Survivor, while the second night of The Sing-Off dropped from the premiere, but still managed to outdo a weak X Factor.

CBS managed to win both in terms of the average number of viewers and in the 18-49 demographic that advertisers are interested in. The network managed a nice 10.26 million viewers and a 2.2 in the demo, HitFix reports. Survivor brought in most of the viewers and averaged a 2.5 rating. Criminal Minds won its timeslot, but slipped to a 2.4 and CSI was also down, to a 1.8 in the demo.

ABC followed closely behind in the demo, but dragged in viewers with a 1.9 and 6.75 million, respectively. The Middle stayed steady with a 1.9, while Back in the Game actually saw minor improvement to a 1.5 in the demo. Modern Family had the win for the night, inching up to a 3.5 in the demographic, with nothing else managing to even come close. Super Fun Night went up to a 1.8, while Nashville slipped to a 1.9 rating.

The Sing-Off dropped for the second night's episode, slipping to a 1.8, according to The Hollywood Reporter. NBC had a weak night with only a 1.7 in the demo and 5.7 million viewers. Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale special wasn't great, averaging only a 1.4 demo rating.

Fox's only program of the night was X Factor which, while low, stayed consistent with previous nights with a 1.4 rating and 4.9 million viewers.

Arrow dropped to a 1.0 for the CW, while The Tomorrow People fell to a 0.5, giving the network only a 0.8 demo rating and 2.2 million viewers for the evening.
