Cirque De Soleil looking to expand towards theater

The ever-popular Cirque De Soleil has been astonishing audiences worldwide with astounding acrobatics, death-defying tricks, and unbeatable spectacle. However, Cirque De Soleil is now wishing to expand its already booming success with an even broader spectrum of performance level with a theatrical core.

According to Broadwayworld.com, Scott Zieger, the co-founding partner of Base Entertainment will head the new theatrical division. Zieger went on to tell them, “This new venture for Cirque is very exciting for me and I look forward to developing new theatrical productions and having access to the best creative talent in the world. I believe there is a huge potential for us on Broadway, the West End and global touring”.

Los Angeles Times reports that the new theatrical production will first open in New York and is to be named fittingly, Cirque De Soleil Theatrical. Although previous productions of Cirque De Soleil have had varied success rates, this new division of the popular phenomenon is sure to dazzle.

Zieger has been known to have worked on many theatrical productions including, Jersey Boys, Rock of Ages, and Phantom of the Opera. Although previous versions of the enhanced circus-like productions have closed quite quickly on Broadwy, Zieger hopes to direct this show solely based around Broadway theatrics to please audiences looking for a wider range.
