First Lady Michelle Obama hosts event at White House ahead of Puppy Bowl with dogs Sonny and Bo

The First Lady, Michelle Obama, and the First Dogs, Sunny and Bo, will be attending the Puppy Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2.

Mrs. Obama hosted an event at the White House ahead of the big event this Sunday on Animal Planet. Twelve first and second graders from D.C.'s Harriet Tubman Elementary School were there, along with 13 rookie puppies from shelters.

E! Online reports they held a puppy training camp for the shelter dogs.

"It was so much fun to see the Puppy Bowl X Team work out at the White House!" Obama said in a statement. "This year's pups showed us that getting active and lapping up plenty of water are important ways to keep our bodies healthy and energized. And as our family has seen with Bo and Sunny, going outside to walk and play with your pet is a perfect way to get moving and have some fun every day."

The event is part of the First Lady’s “Let's Move,” campaign, which teaches the importance of exercise and eating clean. The goal is to rid of child obesity and gives kids the tools they need to be healthy as they grow.
