Hillary Clinton 'not thinking about' presidential bid in 2016

Hillary Clinton spoke during a Q&A session at the National Automobile Dealers Association on Monday and talked about her potential 2016 presidential run, as well as former Defense Secretary Robert Gates’ controversial memoir.

The former secretary of state said she hasn’t given much thought to a presidential campaign, saying she’s focusing on other things right now.

“I have to say, I don’t know. Not a very satisfactory answer, I know,” she said, NBC reports. “I’m not thinking about it. I am trying to get other people not to think about it. I will think about it in the future sometime, but right now let’s think about what we have to do to continue building on our success.”

While Clinton didn’t comment on Gates’ part about her, she did comment on his remarks about President Obama and President Bush in Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War.

“I think the real takeaway from Bob’s book … is that he ended up admiring both President Bush and President Obama,” she said.

Gates served under President George W. Bush starting in 2006 and in 2010, when Obama was elected president, he became the first to serve presidents of both the Republican and Democratic parties. He left his post in 2011.
