Jeff Goldblum and Aubrey Plaza join Johnny Depp's 'Mortdecai'

Johnny Depp's latest project, Mortdecai, an action adventure film, has just received three new cast members.

Jeff Goldblum, Aubrey Plaza and Oliver Platt have signed on to the project.

Variety reported the film will be based on the three-novel series by Kyril Bonfiglioli.

The action film already has a star studded cast, including, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Olivia Munn and Paul Bettany. David Koepp is directing the feature and the screenplay was written by Eric Aronson.

Portions of the film had wrapped its London shoot and are now filming in Los Angeles, when the three actors arrived on set.

Depp who will be featured in the upcoming film is also producing and working behind the scenes. Depp will play Charles Mortdecai. His character is being described as an antihero art dealer and part-time rogue who is in a race to get back a stolen painting that might contain a code to a lost bank account which contains Nazi information and loot, The Wrap reported.

Mortdecai will also mark the first project between Lionsgate and OddLot Entertainment. This is part of a multi year, multipicture deal between the two companies.
