Johnny Manziel enters 2014 NFL Draft

Texas A &M quarterback Johnny Manziel will enter the 2014 NFL draft. He submitted his name to be part of the draft to the NFL on Wednesday, and will forfeit his final two years of college eligibility.
Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner, is expected to be a first round selection. Players who are three years removed from high school are able to enter the draft. Although he played just two seasons at Texas A&M, he redshirted in 2011, which gives him the three years needed to enter the draft, according to NFL.com. Manziel set an SEC single season record for total offense as a freshman with 5,116 yards, which includes a league high 1,410 rushing yards. He became the first freshman to win the Heisman.
This year Manziel had 4,114 passing yards, which is a Texas A&M record. He was 11 yards short of becoming the first sophomore to have 10,000 career yards. In his two years at Texas A&M, Manziel threw for 7, 820 yards and 63 touchdowns, and rushed for 2,169 yards and 30 touchdowns, according to ESPN.
Texas A&M finished this season with a 9-4 record. Scouts Inc. ranks Manziel as the 22nd best player.Manziel’s passing ability has improved, but he has trouble getting rid of the ball as a play develops. It will be interesting to see if Manziel is selected in the first round and which team will pick him.
