MC Alex Trebek raps on Monday's Jeopardy

On Monday’s Jeopardy Alex Trebek rapped an entire category of Jeopardy. A little awkward, maybe, hilarious for sure.

When viewers sat back and listened to Trebek announcing the categories and reading prompts for answers, you could hear a slight rhythm in his voice. According to USA Today, Trebek started trending on Twitter which raised concerns that he may have died.

However, tweets refuted the fake death, one even said: “Alex Trebek didn’t die. He just spits hot fire on television.” Many people were delighted by the 73-year-old star rapping on TV, but many others said that it was “painfully awkward.”

The episode included lyrics from Grandmaster Flash, Notorious B.I.G., the Beastie Boys and Dr. Dre, according to PARADE. The room had a few giggles when Trebek recited lines like, "Don't push me, 'cause I'm close to the edge/I'm trying not to lose my head" and "Another plane/another train/another bottle in the brain."
