Michael Bay walks off stage after teleprompter error at CES (Video)

The Samsung event at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is making headlines, but not because of what the tech giant had to reveal show off. Instead, director Michael Bay made a scene when he walked off the stage because his teleprompter wasn’t working.

Bay, who is working on a fourth Transformers film and is producing a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, started to talk about his craft and how he gets to “dream for a living.” But then his teleprompter must have stopped working, because his mind went completely blank. As TMZ notes, he tried to wing it, but gave up and just walked off the stage.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Bay was supposed to be talking about the new curved UHD TVs Samsung was showing. Samsung executive vice president Joe Stinziano tried to keep Bay on stage longer, asking him, “The curve? How do you think it's gonna impact how viewers experience your movies?”

Bay didn’t care to answer the question, saying “Excuse me, I'm sorry. I'm sorry.” Then, he just walked off the stage.

Bay’s most recent film was Pain & Gain with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson. Transformers: Age of Extinction will star Wahlberg and opens on June 27. TMNT opens in August.
