SAG Awards: 'American Hustle' dominates, Matthew McConaughey and Cate Blanchett give entertaining speeches

The Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on Saturday night at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles, following the Academy Award nominations. The winners are usually a good indicator of what’s to come at the Oscars and the big winners of the night were the cast of American Hustle, who took the SAG award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture.

The cast beat out their stiff competition; <>12 Years a Slave, August: Osage County, Dallas Buyers’ Club and Lee Daniels’ The Butler.

David O. Russell’s American Hustle received 10 Oscar nominations, so they seem to be on track to win the Best Picture Oscar.

Bradley Cooper spoke onstage as the ensemble cast accepted the award at the SAGS, and his speech was in honor of their director David O. Russell. He said in part, "David O. Russell makes you feel like part of a family. He's an actor's director,” LA Times reports.

Notable moments from the show are Matthew McConaughey and Cate Blanchett's speeches for their Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actor/Actress awards.
