Sandra Bullock wins favorite movie actress at the People’s Choice Awards

Last night, Sandra Bullock walked away with a coveted People’s Choice Award for favorite movie actress. The star took home the prize for her role in Gravity.

Gravity is a science-fiction thriller directed by Alfonso Cuaron about astronauts dealing with the destruction of a space shuttle and a return to earth. Bullock starred with George Clooney in the film.

Bullock called starring in Gravity her “best life decision.” Bullock, 49, said she prepared by practicing pilates and learning to move carefully to match lighting and cameras. She said, “I learned so much on a daily basis. And I just went wow, isn’t that funny how being miserable every day physically and then emotionally because of work then turns — makes you open to whatever is coming your way,” according to Variety.

Other winners at The People’s Choice Awards included Justin Timberlake for his album The 20/20 Experience and Chris Golfer for favorite comedic TV actor for his work on Glee. Ellen DeGeneres won her 14th People’s Choice Award for favorite daytime TV host, according to the The Hollywood Reporter.
