British soil has always been fertile and quite nurturing for growth of numerous musicians, who became one of the Britain’s main exports.
Back in the day the world has witnessed a “British Invasion” of the musical world that came in form of the Beatlemania, a musical fever that every single soul seemed to enjoy. Their musical legacy still lingers today and their popularity will never subside.

Some of our favorite British musicians are constantly on rotation on major radio stations here in United States and around the world. However, this Top 10 will introduce you to some emerging and already established British musicians that you might have or haven’t heard of, but that you just must listen to. So, here they are in no order in particular. Click, listen, like, share, enjoy!

[ new page = Nina Nesbitt ]
When she met Ed Sheeran after a gig in Edinburgh, Scotland back in 2011, Nina Nesbitt had no idea that her life is going to change drastically. After Sheeran heard her play her song “Standing On One Leg” to him, he has asked Nina to join him as an opening act. The rest is the history. Nina’s songs are catchy, her lyrics impeccable and her style quite unique. Her debut studio album Peroxide will see the light of the day on February 17th.
[ new page = James Blake ]
James Blake has been Grammy nominated as a Best New Artist at the upcoming 56th Annual Grammy Awards, but he has certainly been around for a while. This electronic producer, singer and songwriter from London has already released five EPs and two studio albums. Blake’s music will send the shivers down your spine and for all the right reasons. The fusion of electronic music and Blake’s gentle, soulful, airy vocal is a recipe for success. Watch out for this one!
[ new page = Lucy Spraggan ]
Lucy Spraggan describes her music as ‘A-Flop’ or a combination of acoustic, folk and hip-hop. Quite musically innovative, don’t you think? While she was still an unsigned artists she has released an album titled Top Room at the Zoo (2011) and then has joined The X Factor in 2012, but had to quit soon due to illness. She has become the first contestant in the history of The X Factor to have a Top 40 single and album, even before the live shows aired and with her independently released album. Her debut major label album Join The Club has been released on October 7th, 2013.
[ new page = John Newman ]
John Newman is a musical gem with a soulful voice and a clean-cut image, whose upbeat, relatable and highly addictive songs must be part of your playlist. I wrote about Newman back in September (click here to read!), but he made this list, because… well, just give it a listen. Newman is best known for his single “Love Me Again.” His debut album Tribute was released on October 14th, 2013.

Pixie Lott will absolutely get under your skin.
[ new page = Alt-J ]
Alt-J is an Indie Rock band consisting of Joe Newman (guitar, lead vocals), Gus Unger-Hamilton (keyboards, vocals) and Thom Green (drums). The band has also had a fourth member, Gwil Sainsbury (guitar, bass), but he has decided to leave the band in January this year with the support of the rest of band members. The band’s name appears either as Alt-J or triangle (∆) that can be typed on Mac OS X when you hit the keys alt and j. Clever, right? Alt-J has released a Demo EP ∆ (2011) and a debut studio album An Awesome Wave (2012). I don’t think that there is a word in the dictionary suitable enough to describe Alt-J’s music, because they are so out-of-the-box. Also, Newman’s voice is one of the most unique male voices you’ll ever hear. The band is best known for their single “Breezeblocks.”
