Sandra Bullock quickly gained film success in the 1990s. She appeared in films like Demolition Man (1993), Speed (1994), While You Were Sleeping (1995), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress,, and Hope Floats (1998). In the early 2000s, Sandra became comedy gold with her roles in Miss Congeniality (2000), earning her second Golden Globe nomination, and Two Weeks Notice (2002). Her acting took a more serious note in the commercially successful Crash in 2004.
Her biggest year was 2009, where she received another Golden Globe nomination for her role in the comedy The Proposal. That was three nominations and no wins, until the box office hit The Blind Side came along. Bullock played Leigh Anne Tuohy, who, along with her husband, adopted an impoverished boy named Michael Oher. It follows Oher’s story, leading up to him becoming a first-round pick in the NFL by the Baltimore Ravens. Bullock received a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress, a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role,a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for Best Actress.
In 2013, Bullock starred opposite Melissa McCarthy in the most financially successful comedy of the year, The Heat. Bullock then starred in the box office hit Gravity, which became one of the highest grossing films of the year. She is currently nominated for a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress, a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor, a British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award for Best Actress, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. This is one of Bullocks lesser known films, but her performance was very well acted. You believe her struggle to stay clean, and the temptation of giving up. She draws in the audience and connects emotionally with them. This is a heartwarming film, and great to watch.

Traveling on a journey to find what this key opens, Oskar must meet new people and try to comfort his grieving mom in order to feel closure.
Bullock had a heart-wrenching performance in this film. Her heartbreak was believable. Though the film received mostly negative reviews from critics, it was nominated for an Academy Award, and Bullocks role was praised.

Two Weeks Notice is a romantic comedy that shows the timeline of the business relationship between Lucy Kelson and George Wade. What starts out as a full-time job, turns into a life consuming nuisance. But when George isn’t there to rely on Lucy anymore, she starts to miss it.
This film was pure joy. Bullock did an excellent job. Her role was truly comedic and witty. The chemistry between her and Hugh Grant was outstanding, and helped made the film more enjoyable. It is one of her best romantic comedies.

Bullock did an excellent job with the feeling of helplessness, and bringing the suspense to audiences. The film reached critical success, and became the highest grossing opening film of Bullock’s career, one that will be hard for her to beat. Bullock is currently nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.
