Windows update will aim to impress

Computer updates are routine, but the latest workings from Microsoft plan to be a big improvement from their previous Windows 8 release.

Last Saturday, Paul Thurrott made an announcement for a new Windows update to come April 2015 that will be a “better balance between meeting the needs of over a billion traditional PC users while enticing users to adopt this new Windows."

For the time being, it is code-named “Threshold” and will possibly be called Windows 9 on its release date, said Thurrott.

There were a number of problems with Windows 8 and many customers shied away from the program. This is evident because the Windows 8.1 update is currently only “in use on less than 25 million PCs,” according to Thurrott.

“Threshold” has a lot of ground to cover and high expectations to meet, especially since its predecessor left a dull reminder of what Windows could be.

As of now, there is no confirmed price point, but the upgrade should not be too expensive, said TechRadar.com .

Since the release is not for another year or so, hopefully the next update for Windows will showcase a better program and leave a pleasant impression on customers.
