Christopher Malcolm, original 'Rocky Horror' and 'Empire Strikes Back' actor, dies at 67

Christopher Malcolm, a Scottish actor who appeared in the first London production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, has died at age 67. The actor is also known for a small role in the Star Wars sequel, The Empire Strikes Back.

The news was first reported by his daughter, playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, reports USA Today. “Today the world lost a beautiful, brilliant man,” Morgan tweeted on Saturday. “My dad Christopher Malcolm left peacefully and with dignity. He will always be my hero. X.”

Malcolm appeared in the 1973 London production of Rocky Horror as Brad Majors, the role Barry Bostwick played in the beloved cult film. According to Entertainment Weekly, he continued his association with the musical in 1990, co-producing a West End revival production.

For film fans, Malcolm will be remembered for playing pilot Zev Senesca in The Empire Strikes Back. He also appeared in Labyrinth, Highlander, The Dogs of War and Warren Beatty’s Oscar-winning film Reds.
