Eliot Spitzer and wife Silda Wall finalize divorce

The marriage between former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer and his wife Silda Wall is officially over. The former spouses were married for 26 years and have three daughters together.

The New York Daily News reports that on Wednesday, Feb.5, a Manhattan judge has finalized a divorce settlement for Spitzer and Wall, without either having to appear in court. The details of the divorce deal are confidential. The pair quietly filed for divorce last December, nearly six years after Spitzer gained media attention for being caught in a prostitution scandal. Spitzer, has sustained that he and Wall were still together last summer, when he surprisingly put himself in contention to become New York's city controller. Spitzer is reportedly now dating Lis Smith, who previously worked as a spokeswoman for New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s transition team.

Page Six revealed exclusively that Spitzer and Smith were caught getting cozy over New Year's Eve in the hot tub of at a Jamaican resort. Back in 2008 Spitzer stepped down as the Governor of New York after it was reported that he was caught in his now infamous prostitution ordeal.
