Freeway crash in Diamond Bar kills six people

The 60 freeway in Diamond Bar, California was closed off on Sunday after a fatal crash occurred at 4:40 a.m. Six people were killed in an accident caused by a wrong-way driver, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on the westbound 60, which is located north of Diamond Bar Boulevard, according to KTLA. A female driver reportedly drove eastbound in a red Chevrolet Camaro.

Her Camaro crashed into a Ford Explorer in the westbound lanes before it collided with a Ford Freestyle. This crash killed four people at the scene, and two more died in a hospital.

The Camaro driver was not killed in the crash, but she was injured and was in critical condition at a hospital, according to The Associated Press.

It remains unknown whether alcohol was a cause of the crash, but authorities will investigate the matter by requesting blood tests to be conducted.

However, investigators believe alcohol was involved in the crash based on what they saw in the Camaro.
