Kendrick Johnson's parents to file a lawsuit against funeral home that handled his remains

After the death of Georgia native, 17 year old Kendrick Johnson, in 2012, his parents are now filing a law suit against the funeral home that handled Kendrick’s remains.

In the lawsuit filed in Lowndes County, Johnson’s parents accused the owner of Harrington Funeral Home, Antonio Harrington; of “intentionally, willfully and secretly desecrated” the remains of Johnson with the notion that it would be difficult to establish the “true cause and manner of death,” reported CBS News.

After a judge ordered Johnson’s body to be exhumed for a second autopsy, a private pathologist concluded the teen had died from a blunt force object rather than "positional asphyxia," which was what the state medical examiner concluded, according to the Associated Press. The private pathologist also discovered that all of Johnson’s organs had been replaced with wads of newspaper.

Johnson was found in a rolled up mat on January 11 2013. Authorities officially ruled it as a freak accident and the case was closed.
