Owner of puppy store jailed for arson, bail upped

A judge in the case of a puppy store owner, who has been jailed and charged with setting the shop ablaze, had her bail raised by more than $250,000.

According to theAssociated Press, Gloria Eun Hye Lee’s was taken to jail after a judge raised her bail from $40,000 to $310,000 on Friday.

KVVU reported on Wednesday that prosecutors would request a motion to raise the pet store owner’s bail, citing her criminal record.

Lee’s criminal past dates back to 1998, when she was indicted for forgery. In 2001, she spent seven months in prison for not turning herself in for an unspecified crime.

On Jan. 27, authorities believe that Lee intentionally set her Prince and Princess Puppies and Boutique on fire with the animals trapped inside.

Fortunately, firefighters arrived on the scene and were able to save all of the canines.

The 27-year-old Lee has been charged with 31 counts of arson, burglary, attempted animal cruelty and conspiracy.
