Rosie Perez blasts Jennifer Lopez in new book

Actress, dancer, and choreographer Rosie Perez, gives details on her feud with Jennifer Lopez in her new book.

Us Magazine reports that Perez revealed her feud with Jennifer Lopez in her new memoir Handbook for an Unpredictable Life.

In the book, Perez explains how she met Lopez at a 1991 casting call for the sketch comedy show In Living Color. Lopez was trying out to become one of the show's Fly Girl dancers.

Rosie claims that she had to convince the shows creator, Keenan Ivory Wayanes, to pick her, after he claimed she was "chubby and corny."

Perez also claims that the other Fly Girls constantly complained about Lopez, and recalled an incident where Lopez went on a screaming rant. Perez referred to her as a "ghetto biatch" in the memoir.

She also recalled how years later, Lopez was friendly and acted as if their feud never happened.

"Jennifer came over to me, smiling, saying hello as if nothing had happened. I should've let it go, played it off, too. Instead, I killed her with my biting tongue," Perez wrote.

New York Daily News reports that Perez also recalled her difficult family past in the book. Going into detail about a fearful night where her mother shot at her father with a gun.

She also explains her relationship with her mother, and how it only lead to violence and neglect when she tried to reconcile with her.

Perez's memoir, Handbook for an Unexpected Life, is scheduled to release Feb. 23.
