Thieves steal entire ATM machine from gas station

Police are looking for the crooks who took off with an entire ATM machine from a gas station in Philadelphia on Monday.

According to Philly.com, authorities on the scene have said that the ATM was located near the doorway inside the station and did not appear to have been secured to the ground when it was pulled off the base.

Police also believe that the suspects loaded the unit into a white vehicle after they exited the store.

ATM heist have become more common recently.

Last month, police arrested three people in Cleveland County after they ripped a machine out of a convenience store. In December, looters in San Francisco committed the brazen act by snatching a machine right off a business wall. And in Oak Ridge, Tenn., on Christmas day, thieves attempted to dislodge an ATM using a bobcat.

WPVI has reported that is not known how much money was in the machine when it was stolen from the Philadelphia store.

Police are checking surveillance footage to help identify the suspects.
