TV Ratings: Sochi Olympics struggles on Friday night, 'Shark Tank' returns

Though Friday night easily went to NBC and Winter Olympics coverage, the ratings slumped for the Games and ABC's Shark Tank returned with a new episode.

The Sochi Olympics have struggled in comparison with the 2010 Vancouver Games, but Friday night was the first ugly dip for NBC, reports Deadline. The ratings in the important 18-49 demographic dipped 43 percent from last Friday to a 3.5 in the demo. The Viewership numbers weren't stellar either, with 14.6 million watching.

Still, those numbers easily dominated the night when almost no other network bothered to schedule a new episode of programming, with the exception of ABC, who came second, according to HitFix.

The alphabet network averaged a 1.3 in the demo and 5.38 million viewers. The night started off with two encores of Last Man Standing, before giving way to a new episode of Shark Tank, which averaged a 1.7 demo rating. The number is a small fall from the last new episode almost a month ago.

CBS averaged a 0.8 in the demo and 6.17 million viewers off the back of Blue Bloods repeats. Fox was right behind with a 0.7 rating and 2.25 million viewers. The network aired repeats of Enlisted, Bones and Raising Hope.

The CW again went with Whose Line is It Anyway repeats and averaged a 0.3 in the demo and 968,000 viewers.
