Wife of lawyer who received mail bomb dies

The wife of a retired lawyer has died from her injuries after her husband received a package that exploded.

According to CNN, 72-year-old Marion Setzer died Wednesday night at Vanderbilt Hospital.

She was critically injured and suffered burns to her face and chest when a parcel bomb sent to her rural home on Monday detonated. Setzer’s husband, John, a former bankruptcy lawyer, was killed in the blast.

Authorities have said that the explosion blew out windows and damaged several rooms inside the Lebanon house.

On Tuesday, The Tennessean noted that investigators did not have a motive as to why someone would send the couple such a package.

CNN reported that investigators found a note that may have gone with the package.

"This is a very important piece of evidence, because now you may have handwriting," said Joseph Vince a former ATF agent and bomb expert.

A reward is being offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
