Woman poses as Waffle House manager and steals cash from register

The police in Atlanta are on the search for an unidentified woman who dressed in a Waffle House uniform, walked into the restaurant, and pretended to be an area manager. Witnesses reported that the woman who posed as a manager turned the cash drawer key and removed $100 cash from the store register upon leaving the Waffle House.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the woman entered the restaurant a little after 6 Wednesday morning. She first began inspecting the restroom area of the store and then after took the cash from the register of the 24 hour diner on the southeast side of the city.

Kim Jonas, spokeswoman for Atlanta police, said the woman continued all the duties that an actual area manager would do. However, taking cash from the register is not a usual act for an area manager visit.

ABC News noted that the woman was spotted leaving the store in a Mercury Mountaineer SUV that had Georgia tags. The driver was an unidentified male.

Atlanta authorities are still investigating the incident and are still searching for both of the suspects.
