'Captain America' star Chris Evans says he’d like to take a break from acting

Chris Evans, who starred as a hero in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, is telling people that he would like to take a break from acting to direct more often.

According to the Variety, Evans said, "I've known for a while I wanted to direct. But [time] never really opens up. There's another movie to do, there's another acting job. It just got to a point where I was like, 'You know what -- I have to do this.' "

According to The Huffington Post, Evans signed a six picture deal with Marvel before starring as Captain America. He will return to the series and star in Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015 and Captain America 3 in 2016. Evans says that without the Marvel movies, he wouldn’t be directing. He says that the Marvel films gave him enough recognition to greenlight a new project.

His debut feature is a love story that is entitled, 1:30 Train. The movie was shot for only $3 million dollars. Evans cast Alice Eve as Abby Randazzo, a woman who befriends a street musician, played by Evans.
