Chipotle sues Frank Ocean for not making advertisement

Popular fast food chain Chipotle, is suing Grammy-winning singer Frank Ocean. Chipotle is claiming that Ocean took $212,500 dollars in payment for a song he never created.

Time reported that the lawsuit explained that the company signed an agreement with Ocean for $425,000 after the company produced a promotional video and asked the pop star to write a song for it. Ocean was supposed to deliver a master track by early August.

Ocean was given half of the payment up front but never delivered a mastered track within the timeline he was given, Pitchfork reported. The "Thinkin Bout You" singer would have been given the other half of the contract upon competition of the contract.

Ocean's legal council for this case are claiming that he was misled and the terms of the deal had not been made clear.

When Frank was asked to participate in this project, Chipotle’s representatives told him that the thrust of the campaign was to promote responsible farming. There was no Chipotle reference or logo in the initial presentation, and Chipotle told Frank that was an intentional element of the campaign,” said his attorneys.

His attorneys also explained that Ocean was also promised that he would have final rights to approve the master and any additional advertising.
