Duchess of Cambridge has access to Queen Elizabeth II's private collection of jewelry for upcoming Antipodean tour

When the Duchess of Cambridge tours Australia and New Zealand in about a month, she will get the privilege of wearing Queen Elizabeth II’s jewelry. The Antipodean tour kicks off on April 7.

Kate Middleton will be able to pick from the Queen’s private collection of jewels for the trip, an insider says.

"Although Kate won't be wearing tiaras on the tour, the Queen has given Kate total access to her private jewel collection so she can wear some exquisite pieces," the source told Us Weekly reports.

Middleton has been preparing for the trip with the help of a wardrobe coordinator, who’s helping her match her reported over 30 outfits with the Queen’s private pieces.

"She has been allowed to pick out as many items as she needs," said the source.

In total, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will make 48 royal appearances. Prince George will be along for the trip, but it isn’t clear how many events he will attend or if he will go to any at all.

As we previously reported, the royal couple has just hired a nanny for the 8-month-old prince.
