One of the most talked about moments of the Oscars is when host Ellen DeGeneres crashed Twitter after taking one of the most star-studded selfies.

“I thought it would crash,” DeGenered told E! News. “But I didn’t know everyone would do it. What’s funny is that Lupita’s brother is the most prominent. And then Jared cam running over to be in it. And Angie got in. I didn’t expect all that.”

Originally the plan was to cut out Meryl Streep’s head out of the picture. “That was going to be the joke,” DeGeneres revealed. “But it doesn’t matter. It was just great.”

Despite the failure of the joke, the comedian set the record for most retweeted tweets of all-time and she’s the first user to top 1 million retweets for a single Twitter post, according to New York Daily News.

It took about 34 minutes to break the record and in less than an hour, the picture surpassed 1,300,000 retweets.

“We are all winners tonight. That’s what it means,” the funny host said.
