'Game of Thrones': The Complete Third Season Blu-ray Review

SPOILER ALERT:
Game Of Thrones Season 3 was released by HBO on DVD/BLUE-RAY/DIGITAL COPY on February 18th. Since then, although as a huge fan of the show I've already seen the entire season, I have been holed up watching everything this collection has to offer and its been an awesome digital experience.

Games Of Thrones Season 3 was jam packed with action, battles and personal tests. The Lannister's are barely hanging onto their power over the throne and the families of Westeros all are in a battle of strength, loyalty and power. Robb Stark is presented with major difficulty in his plan to take over the Lannister Power. He has made many mistakes in the past; and boy does Stark, his family and his army pay for them BIG TIME this season. Across the sea, boy does Daenerys Targaryen, desperately wants to claim the Iron Throne spend the season attempting to form her army. She does just that as she frees the Unsullied's and asks them to join her army as free men. They do just that and the fight continues as she encounters more trouble in Yunkai. The season winds down with a victory for Daenerys and somewhat of a motherly celebration. Jaime Lannister doesn't have the best time this season - in fact its a wretched battle for the whole family pretty much the entire 10 episode season. Can't wait to see what happens in Season 4 - Daenerys could possibly continue to climb the power ladder and what is to happen now that Stark is out?

The beautifully packaged Season 3 DVD comes in a fabulous Blue-Ray, DVD and Digital Copy Combo pack which totally covers all the bases. Cool Blue-Ray features include an awesome In-Episode Guide which provides all background info and all about the history of all characters (a huge help as GOA is always a web of incoming and outgoing people). Also super awesome was the "History and Lore" segment on Disc 5 which teaches the mythology of Westeros as told by the characters: this I watched twice as I loved it so much. You are also treated to an in depth meeting of all the new characters this season (there are many!), audio commentaries by the cast and crew, really great extended and deleted scenes (I always wonder why half of them were cut in the first place) and of course "The Politics of Marriage", a really helpful tutorial of the Westeros Matrimony - such a major part of Season 3's rises and falls.

Game of Thrones Season 3 is definitely worth the purchase. There are so many extra features that are a major treat to the GOA fan. For more information or to purchase products please visit store.hbo.com. (Among other retailers are Amazon, Walmart and Target to name a few)
