George Michael’s 'Symphonica' lands No. 1 spot U.K. albums chart

George Michael's latest album has taken the top spot on the U.K. albums charts. Symphonica took the top spot in a close race with Voice coach Kylie Minogue's latest album Kiss Me Once which topped the charts in Australia during its debut week.

Billboard reported that Symphonica out sold Kiss Me Once by 20,000 copies. This also marks the seventh No. 1 album for Michael in the U.K. since he started on his solo career.

Minogue only has had five of her albums take over the U.K. album charts top spot.

Symphonica was recorded on “Symphonica” world tour which took place back in 2011 and 2012.

Coming in the third spot on the charts was Pharrell Williams with his first solo debut G I R L which features the hit single "Happy" which has taken over the globe and the top spot on singles charts around the world. Williams recently announced that he would be joining the line up for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2014 in Glasgow, The Daily Record reported.
