The Indianapolis Colts announced Thursday that they have signed former Browns middle linebacker D’Qwell Jackson.
It did not take long for someone to sign the veteran linebacker. The signing comes just one week after being released by the Browns on Feb. 26.
The contract with the Colts is for four years worth $22 million with $11 million guaranteed, according to ESPN. Jackson will be reunited with his former coach, Rob Chudzinski, who was fired by the Browns after the 2013 season and was recently hired as an assistant to the head coach, Chuck Pagano. He will also be reunited with former Browns teammate, running back Trent Richardson.
USA Today reports that Jackson visited with the Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos before coming to the decision to sign with the Colts.
Jackson was a very reliable player for the Browns. In his eight years in the NFL, all with the Browns, he played in 96 games and started all 16 games for the Browns the past three seasons, according to USA Today.
The 30-year-old Jackson will be a great addition and leader to the Colts defense.
