Jared James Abrahams sentenced to jail for 'sextortion' scheme involving Miss Teen USA, Cassidy Wolf

Jared James Abrahams was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison Monday after conducting a “sextortion” scheme involving multiple young women from various parts around the world. The act included current Teen USA Cassidy Wolf of Orange County, California.

Back in November of 2013, Abrahams, 20, plead guilty to one count of computer hacking and another three counts of extortion reported NBC.

Abrahams’ admitted to using “malware” to access the computers of the young women and control the webcams on their computers. He additionally took nude photographs and videos of the women and used these as blackmail. Abrahams’ sent threatening emails to the girls saying he would publish the photos or otherwise harm the young women’s reputation.

Abrahams, a student at Cal State San Marcos, contacted more than a dozen girls, including one minor, in addition to Wolf throughout the scam as previouslt reported. The victim’s are believed to live in the following places of California, Maryland, Ireland, Canada, Russia, and Moldova.
