'Jeopardy!' champ Arthur Chu ends 11-win reign to Diana Peloquin

After 11 consecutive wins, Jeopardy! champ Arthur Chu was defeated. He had a great run, though, and won nearly $300,000 in his 12-day reign.

On Wednesday, Chu was beat by the night’s winner Diana Peloquin. He came in third with zero winnings for that night. He lost his total of $6,400 on a Final Jeopardy question.

According to Daily News, in the history of the game show, Chu, 30, is third in the most wins. He’s been criticized for his style of playing, however.

In 2004, Ken Jennings, won 74 times in a row and earned $2.5 million. In 2005, Dave Madden ran a streak of 19 wins.

Chu told CNN last month of his strategy of jumping around the board randomly instead of running through the questions in each category that “It’s a way to keep an edge on my opponents, keep them on their toes instead of making myself predictable.”

He added, “It’s one of the few choices you have in the game, is what clues you pick and, if you make yourself predictable, you give up a huge edge.”

Chu took to Twitter after Wednesday’s loss and wrote, “Just have to console myself with being a guest on #GoodMorningAmerica and #LiveWithKellyAndMichael and almost $300,000.”

When a fan asked how much he got to take home, he said he gets “one big check, haven't done the math on taxes yet, it gets complicated.”
