John Lennon’s artwork and manuscripts will be auctioned

John Lennon’s artwork will be auctioned on June 4th at Sotheby.

Drawings by John Lennon were created in the 60s. An illustration of a guitar player has a presale estimate of $15,000 to $25,000. According to the Associated Press, items are being put up for sale by Tom Maschler, who worked with Lennon on “In His Own Write” and “A Spaniard in the Works.” Also up for auction is a manuscript Lennon wrote in 1965 called “The Singularge Experience of Miss Anne Duffield." The items are expected to sell for $40,000 to $60,000.

Lennon was a member of the Beatles. He died in 1990. He was shot in NYC by Mark David Chapman.

Former Beatle, George Harrison, is also auctioning some items. A rare jacket worn by George Harrison was sold earlier this week. According to The Guardian, the jacket was worn during the making of the 1965 Beatles movie, Help!. A piano used in the film, Help!, also sold at a recent auction. The piano was played by Sir Paul McCartney.
