Kurt Cobain’s childhood home considered for a museum

Avid Nirvana fan and journalist Jaime Dunkle has launched a campaign this month to purchase Kurt Cobain’s childhood home in Aberdeen, Washington.
The Rolling Stones reports that Cobain’s mother, Wendy O’Connor, listed the house last fall for $500,000 dollars. Dunkle began GoFundMe.com to raise $700,000 dollars for starting up a museum to honor the grudge star’s legacy. Rewards for donating range from discounted museum membership, T-shirts, and tickets to see Die Antwood, depending on the amount donated.
Dunkle writes in her listing, "We're making sure this house is memorialized by us fans so it doesn't end up in the clutches of capitalist greed."
According to Broward-Palm Beach New Times, Dunkle had to send a bio of herself to O’Connor proving she wasn’t some “crazed fan” without credentials. She arranged appointment to view the house on Kurt Cobain’s 47 birthday, for which she took a short video.

She notes, “The walk up the stairs into his bedroom made the hairs on my neck stand up. All I could think was that I was seeing through his eyes and walking in his footsteps, literally."
Cobain has been honored numerous times this year, including Aberdeen’s induction of “Kurt Cobain Day” on February 20.
