Lorde reacts to Springsteen's 'Royals' cover

Lorde shed tears when she found out about The Boss's performance of her hit song "Royals".
Springsteen played "Royals" off of Lorde's debut Pure Heroine in the seventeen year old star's home country of New Zealand while she was on tour in the U.S. She was in Austin when she found out about the cover on Twitter. She told news.com.au "my Twitter went mental, everyone in New Zealand was like ‘You can’t believe what just happened!’"
The young singer expressed her respect for the music legend. "It was so exciting, it was the highest honour. He’s such an incredible songwriter. I got a little teary. It was very cool" she said.
Lorde also briefly touched on her album hitting the million mark in the U.S. this week, saying "How mental is that, right? I was pretty pumped."
Although she was star struck, Lorde is no stranger to the idea of grandiosity. The musician, born Ella Yelich-O’Connor, told ABC News recently that she chose the stage name Lorde because she wanted ""I basically chose Lorde because I wanted a name that was really strong and had this grandeur to it."
