Mark Wahlberg getting MTV's Generation Award, will appear alongside 'Entourage' co-stars at MTV Movie Awards

Mark Wahlberg will accept MTV’s Generation Award at the upcoming MTV Movie Awards next month. He will also appear alongside his Entourage co-stars for the first time since the HBO show ended at the event.

Johnny Depp, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey, Mike Myers and more have received this honor in past years. Wahlberg will appear in the highly-anticipated Entourage film in summer 2015 with co-stars Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara.

“Mark Wahlberg is the definition of a modern-day Renaissance Man: from Dirk Diggler to The Departed, The Basketball Diaries to Ted, Entourage to The Fighter in front of the camera and behind – he’s done it all and he’s always memorable,” Stephen Friedman, president of MTV, said in a statement about his new honor, Variety reports.

“Mark has captivated the MTV audience for over 20 years, and for this rare feat, we’re proud to recognize him with this year’s Generation Award,” he added.
CBS News reports Walhberg’s next film is "Transformers: Age of Extinction, which hits the big screen on June 27.

The MTV Movie Awards airs live on April 13 at 9pm on MTV.
