'Me, Myself and Mum' tops French Cesar Awards, 'Blue is the Warmest Color' loses out

Blue is the Warmest Color lost out to comedy Me, Myself and Mum at France's Cesar Awards.

Guillaume Gallienne's film swept through the awards show and won Best Actor, Debut Feature, Adapted Screenplay, Editing and the top Picture award, reports HitFix.

The autobiographical gender confusion film follows Gallienne as he both plays himself and his own mother. Sometimes he plays them both in the very same scene. The film is still looking for U.S. distribution.

Other winners at the French award show included Roman Polanski for Best Director off his Venus in Fur. Albert Dupontel won Best Original Screenplay for Nine Month Stretch and The Broken Circle Breakdown won Best Foreign Film.

The Palme d'Or winner, Blue struggled at the awards show and only managed to end up winning Best New Female Actress for Adele Exarchopoulos, according to Reuters.

Actress Julie Gayet, showed up at the Cesars, which is her first public appearance since the news of her affair with French President Francois Hollande was revealed by tabloid Closer. She lost out in best female supporting category to Adele Haenel.
