'Pretty Little Liars’ hits 2014 tweet high for finale

ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars concluded its fourth season last night with cliff hangers and a ratings high for the teen drama. This season finale also became the most-tweeted about series telecast of 2014.

Variety reported that Pretty Little Liars brought in over 3.12 million viewers. These ratings helped the eposide become the most-watched program in that time period.

During the eposide 1.454 million tweets went out about the show by nearly 411,000 unique users. The show peaked at a rate of 37,000 per minute.

The series has broken into the top six most-tweeted about TV series on record.

The cast gathered together for a special finale event in New York at the Ziegfeld Theater for over 1,000 fans. The cast did a live script reading of the finale for the fans, Entertainment Weekly reported.

The show is set to return June 10th and the return will also mark an actor returning to the cast. Tyler Blackburn, who plays Caleb on the show will be coming back after ABC Family cancelled Ravenswood.
