Thomas Lennon tapped to co-star in CBS' 'Odd Couple' pilot

Thomas Lennon has been cast to star opposite Matthew Perry in CBS' comedy pilot remake of The Odd Couple.

Lennon will play Felix Unger who is the neat freak of the two main characters, which often puts him at odds with Perry's Oscar who is quite the slob, according to The Hollywood Reporter. His inability to not have things exactly as he likes them has forced his wife throw him out of their house and her life.

He ends up moving in with Oscar, but isn't able to learn his lesson that cost him his marriage and annoys his friend with his obsessive habits.

Lennon and Perry previously acted together in 17 Again, which starred Zac Efron. Lennon most recently was on the now-cancelled NBC comedy Sean Saves the World.

Lennon joins not only Perry, but also Sarah Baker who was cast at the end of February to play Oscar's assistant who is forced to calm down the numerous situations that her boss creates.

Her character, Samantha, is great at her job, but also suffers from a lack of short-term memory and never writing things down before forgetting.

In addition to starring, Perry is also executive producing and writing the screenplay with the Frasier's Joe Keenan.

Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum are on board to also executive produce.
