Two teens enter plea in ‘thrill kill’ of Australian

Two teenagers accused of killing an Australian baseball player in Oklahoma entered not guilty pleas at their arraignment on Thursday.

According to ABC News, Chancey Luna, 16, and Michael Jones, 18, pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges in the shooting death of 22-year-old Christopher Lane. Both teens are being tried as adults in the case.

The Daily Mail noted that the teens are accused of gunning down the athlete from Melbourne as he jogged near his girlfriend's parents' home in Duncan, Okla.

Authorities have alleged that the teens randomly targeted the victim and shot him because "they had nothing to do."

A third teenager, James Francis Edwards, Jr., 16, who was present at the time of the alleged killing, struck a deal with prosecutors and has agreed to testify against Luna and Jones.

Their trial is set for August 18.

Lane was attending East Central University on a baseball scholarship and was entering his senior season as a catcher.
