Westboro Baptist Church protests and covers ‘Royals’

The Westboro Church took a new approach at protesting, this time creating their very own version of Lorde’s hit song, “Royals.”

Earlier this week, the controversial group announced they were going to picket the singer’s show in Kansas City, MO on March 21. Shortly after, Lorde posted to her Twitter page that her fans “should wear rainbow clothing and kiss the protestors.”

Although the tweets were taken down shortly after, the Westboro Baptist Church decided to cover the 17-year-old’s song and posted it to their Sound Cloud, The Week reports.

Instead of Lorde singing about gold teeth and Grey Goose, they switched the lyrics around to portrayals of hell and anti-Godly images.

“We’re coming to end of all the flesh/We warned with pickets, signs and songs and our movies,” a church member, who sounds similar to the Grammy winner, sings.
