‘Frozen’ still dominating the Japan box office

Frozen is officially the No. 1 animated feature film of all time but it has no plans of slowing down at box offices across the world. For a 5th weekend in a row, Frozen took the top spot at the Japanese box office. The film brought in an additional $8.25 million.

Since the film opened 31 days ago in Japan, Frozen has made over $90 million in total box office revenue, Variety reported.

The current box office champion for 2014 in Japan is the WWII kamikaze drama The Eternal Zero. Eternal has made $84.5 million at the box office this year.

The Oscar winner, Frozen, has been making nearly $3 million a day and is on pace to make over $150 million at the Japanese box office.

According to the The Hollywood Reporter Japan is now the biggest overseas territory for Frozen, topping Korea.

The Disney animated feature is about to have some competition from Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the latest installment of a very popular franchise Detective Conan which is also an animation series that is targeted towards children.
