'Dancing with the Stars' sees the first perfect score of the season

The competition on Dancing with the Stars heats up, and fans saw their first perfect score of the season on a night featuring dances from popular Disney films.

James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd took the perfect score for their dance to "Let it Go" from Frozen. Their routine "absolute artistry," according to CBS News. A perfect score on Dancing with the Stars is 40 out of 40 points.

The show had a Disney theme night. Host Tom Bergeron said the show was like Disney on Ice but without the ice. “We’re doing some conscious recoupling,” Bergeron said, according to the LA Times.

There were great hopes for Cody Simpson and Witney Carson’s “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” from The Lion King. Their dance fell a bit below expectations, and the team only received 34 points.

Simpson’s partner, Carson, added, "I'm sad. I feel like people didn't really get to see Cody yet. He's incredible," according to CBS.

Donny Osmond sat in as Guest Judge on Monday, as the show is at its halfway point in Season 18.
