Flavor Flav pleads guilty to domestic violence charges involving longtime girlfriend's son

Flavor Flav has plead guilty to domestic violence charges involving his girlfriend’s teenage son, stemming from a 2012 argument in which he pulled a knife out on him.

The 55-year-old Public Enemy rapper was initially charged with child abuse, assault with a deadly weapon and battery domestic violence charges but he has reached an agreement to wipe the felony charges from his record.

He plead guilty in exchange for lesser domestic charges. He will be on probation for a year as a result, and has been ordered to attend 12 domestic counseling sessions with his girlfriend’s son, CNN reports.

Tess Driver, spokeswoman for the Clark County district attorney in Las Vegas, confirmed he was charged with attempted battery with substantial bodily harm and battery constituting domestic violence, which are both misdemeanors.

Huffington Post reports the rapper has since reconciled with the teen, who he refers to his as his son. He told a judge in a preliminary hearing, "I love my son and my son loves me, too.”
