Former New York Knick Larry Hughes accused of rape

The ex-Knick was taken in for questioning and released on Friday after he was accused of raping a woman at the Trump SoHo Hotel.

According to the New York Daily News, sources have said that Larry Hughes was briefly questioned at the 1st Precinct stationhouse about the allegations made by the 22-year-old woman.

Video surveillance caught Hughes and his accuser walking into the hotel together around 4 a.m. After the woman left, she went to a nearby hospital and claimed that she had been raped.

The 35-year-old former player and the woman had met earlier that evening at the Greenhouse nightclub.

Hughes was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1998 NBA Draft and played for several teams during his career including the Sixers, the Knicks, the Golden State Warriors, the Washington Wizards and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He last appeared on the court with the Orlando Magic in the 2011-2012 season, Basketball-Reference.com noted.

Hughes is married to wife Carrie and has been rumored to have had extramarital affairs in the past.

He has not been charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault.
